The groundbreaking ceremony for Model Organism Research Base of Biocytogen China was held on Sep. 8, 2018 at Haimen Biotech and Pharmaceutical Park.
Occupying a land area of approximately 6.53 hectares and a built-up area of 115,000 square meters, the project costs CNY 1.016 billion and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. Upon completion, Biocytogen’s Haimen branch will become China’s largest research base and supplier of model organisms, boasting a workforce of up to 3,000 employees. Present at this grand ceremony were Mr Lu Yifei, Chairman of Haimen’s People's Political Consultative Conference, other distinguished representatives, as well as some Biocytogen employees. By virtue of critical mass, the base poises to rapidly attract innovative pharmaceutical enterprises from both China and around the world to open up their operations there. By forming an industry cluster that centers on model organisms and disease models and brings together a variety of corporate research centers and a wealth of expertise in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, Biocytogen is well-positioned to accelerate biopharmaceutical research in China.
