Scientist/Sr. Scientist for in vitro Pharmacology

Position Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Research Scientist will be to develop and perform in vitro and ex vivo cellular and/or biochemical assays and expand the company’s assay capabilities in immunology, immuno-oncology, and oncology. In addition, the incumbent will assist and support in vivo pharmacological studies using animal models, including establishing and characterizing existing and new animal models.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize scientific training and laboratory skills in immunology, immuno-oncology, and oncology.
  • Independently develop, perform, interpret, and troubleshoot a broad range of in vitro assays including immune cell profiling in blood and tissues, functional assays using primary cells such as T cells, NK cells, and macrophages, cytokine profiling, as well as cytotoxicity/apoptosis assays using primary and/or cultured cells.
  • Innovate and expand our assay portfolio by identifying, evaluating, and implementing new assay technologies through literature research, academic collaborations, and adaptation from other groups within the company.
  • Effectively present internally at team and departmental meetings and externally to collaborators and scientific communities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • PhD in pharmacology, immunology, cancer biology, or related field in Biomedical Sciences with a minimum of 3+ years of academic or biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Extensive relevant research experience using animal models as evidenced in publications is required.
  • Great hands-on experience with syngeneic mouse tumor models with expertise in drug administration, tumor cell culture, tumor cell inoculation, tumor measurement, and blood and tissue collections.
  • Proficiency in establishing in vivo PK/PD models and providing PK/PD service is required.
  • Proven track record of managing teams or projects in industry or academic labs.
  • Experience in isolation and profiling analysis of primary cells, especially immune cells from tumors and tissues, is desirable.
  • Extensive surgical skills in rodents with more than one therapeutic area are desirable.
