IVF Mouse Rederivation Services

During feeding, mice may be contaminated by different microbial pathogens in the environment; some embryonic biological techniques can be used to rederivate such mice into SPF grade or even higher grade mice; at present, Biocytogen rederivates foreign non-SPF grade mice by IVF.

Specifications for IVF Mouse Rederivation Services

Acceptance Criteria for Parental Mice

    • Parental mice to be provided by the client: 3–5 fertile male mice (10–20 weeks of age).
    • Documents to be filled by the client: 1. Genotype identification protocol for the mice to be rederivated (Biocytogen BD will send the protocol to the client). 2. Based on the microbial testing report for animals in the last 3 months, animals other than those tested positive for 7 assays can be accepted for rederivation (see Table 1).

Specification for the Delivery of Rederivated Mice

    • Quantity of delivered mice: Not fewer than 2 pairs of positive mice depending on the customer’s target.
    • Genotype of delivered mice: Consistent with the genotype required by the client.
    • Microbial level of delivered mice: Tested negative for all 45 tests (see Table 2).
    • Accompanying documents submitted at the time of mouse delivery: 1. Mouse genotype identification report. 2. Microbial testing report for mice (An analysis report for corresponding tests will be provided upon request of the client, and testing cost will be charged separately depending on test specifics).
