CSF1R(Colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor) , also known as CD115 and M-CSF-R, CSF1R belongs to the type Ⅲ protein tyrosine kinase receptor family is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, peritoneal exudate cells, plasmacytoid and conventional dendritic cells, and osteoclasts. This gene product’s natural ligands include CSF1 and IL-34. CSF1R directly influences tissue macrophage and osteoclast differentiation and proliferation. CSF1R mediated signaling is crucial for the differentiation and survival of the mononuclear phagocyte system and macrophages in particular.
Protein expression analysis
Strain specific CSF1R expression analysis in heterozygous B-hCSF1R mice by flow cytometry. Blood were collected from WT and heterozygous B-hCSF1R (H/+) mice, and analyzed by flow cytometry with species-specific anti-CSF1R antibody. Mouse CSF1R was detectable in WT and heterozygous B-hCSF1R mice. Human CSF1R was exclusively detectable in heterozygous B-hCSF1R but not WT mice.
