Mouse Models to Investigate New Treatments for Inflammatory Disease
Jenna Frame, Ph.D. Manager, Scientific Communications & Marketing, Biocytogen Boston
- Introduced immune system, cytokines, and autoimmune diseases.
- Reviewed Modeling Inflammatory Diseases in Wild-Type and Humanized Mice, including multiple Sclerosis/EAE, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Colitis/Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
- Inflammatory & autoimmune diseases have complex etiologies and mechanisms, but can be modeled in mice. We have established protocols to recapitulate key disease phenotypes in vivo, enabling MoA studies in WT mice, Ex vivo assessments using flow and other methods. Testing novel immunotherapies in humanized mice is also feasible.
