Tool Mice

Researchers use gene-edited mouse models to study gene expression, investigate genetic diseases, and evaluate preclinical drug efficacy, among other applications. In many studies, a mouse model expresses a gene mutation throughout its development and lifespan, which can limit experimental flexibility. To achieve greater control over gene expression, researchers employ inducible disease mouse models. These conditional mouse models—a specialized class of gene-edited animal models—allow precise, time- or tissue-specific regulation of gene expression and disease induction in preclinical and in vivo studies.

Key Features of Biocytogen's Tool Mice

Biocytogen has developed various Cre mice and DTR mice with expression in specific tissue and specific cell. Additionally, Biocytogen have developed reporter mice, which allow us to observe gene expression at the tissue or cellular level through experimental instruments when the reporter gene is expressed. This facilitates in vivo gene expression monitoring, cell labeling, and lineage tracing studies.
