Humanized Tumor Cell Lines

The ability to test potential immuno-oncology therapeutics in vivo requires an intact immune system in the disease model. One way to model disease progression is through the use of murine cancer cell lines. 

Murine cancer cell lines are a useful tool to investigate biological processes that govern tumor growth. Specific applications for murine cancer cell lines include in vitro mechanistic studies, and in vivo syngeneic tumor growth assays. For these syngeneic models, an isolated murine cancer cell line is implanted into immunocompetent mice of the same strain/genetic background. The use of syngeneic models allows for successful implantation of tumor cells that are recognized as “self” by the mouse.
