Western blot analysis of P2RX3 protein expression in homozygous B-hP2RX3 mice. Dorsal root ganglia were collected from wild-type C57BL/6 mice (+/+) and homozygous B-hP2RX3 mice (H/H), and then analyzed by western blot with anti-P2RX3 antibody. 30 μg total proteins were loaded for western blotting analysis. P2RX3 was detected in Dorsal root ganglia. Anti-P2RX3 antibody was cross reactive between human and mouse.

Strain specific analysis of P2RX3 mRNA expression in wild-type C57BL/6 mice and B-hP2RX3 mice by RT-PCR. Dorsal root ganglia RNA were isolated from wildtype C57BL/6 mice (+/+) and homozygous B-hP2RX3 mice (H/H), then cDNA libraries were synthesized by reverse transcription, followed by PCR with mouse or human P2RX3 primers. Mouse P2rx3 mRNA was detectable only in wild-type C57BL/6 mice. Human P2RX3 mRNA was detectable only in homozygous B-hP2RX3 mice but not in wild-type mice.
