Gene targeting strategy for B-hSELP mice. The exons 3-13 of mouse Selp gene that encode the extracellular region were replaced by human SELP exons 3-14 in B-hSELP mice.

Strain specific analysis of SELP gene expression in wild-type C57BL/6 mice and B-hSELP mice by RT-PCR. Mouse Selp mRNA was detectable only in lung cells of wild-type C57BL/6 mice (+/+). Human SELP mRNA was detectable only in homozygous B-hSELP mice (H/H), but not in wild-type mice.

Strain specific SELP expression analysis in homozygous B-hSELP mice by ELISA. Serum were collected from wild-type C57BL/6 mice (+/+) and homozygous B-hSELP mice (H/H), and analyzed by ELISA with species-specific SELP ELISA kit. Mouse SELP was detectable in wild-type mice. Human SELP was exclusively detectable in homozygous B-hSELP but not wild-type mice.
