    Advancing Obesity and Metabolic Disease Drug Discovery: From DIO Models to Comprehensive Phenotyping

    Obesity is a major driver of metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia, hypercholesterolemia, and obesity-associated cardiovascular disease. As the prevalence of obesity continues to rise worldwide, there is an increasing need for translational preclinical models that faithfully recapitulate human metabolic dysfunction and enable robust evaluation of next-generation therapeutics. Diet-induced obesity (DIO) mouse models have become one of the most widely used and well-validated preclinical models for studying obesity-associated metabolic disorders and evaluating therapeutic efficacy.
