Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mammalian Cell Culture Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mammalian cell culture techniques and a strong background in cellular biology. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting preclinical pharmacology studies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Cell Culture Management: Cultivate and maintain mammalian cell lines for preclinical pharmacology studies. Manage both adherent and suspension cell cultures.
  • Protocol Optimization: Develop and optimize cell culture protocols to maximize cell viability, growth, and productivity. Adapt procedures to meet project-specific requirements.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform essential cell culture maintenance tasks, including media preparation, subculturing, and cryopreservation. Ensure the ongoing health and stability of cell cultures.
  • Experimental Support: Conduct experimental procedures and assays using mammalian cell cultures to support diverse preclinical research projects. Establish and validate cell line profiles as needed.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Accurately and thoroughly document experimental procedures, results, and observations. Maintain records in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Cell Banking and SOP Development: Oversee cell banking activities, including the establishment and maintenance of cell banks. Develop and standardize SOPs for cell culture operations.
  • Cell Culture Facility Management: Manage cell culture rooms, including scheduling, maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Training and Development: Train and mentor new employees and team members in cell culture techniques and best practices, enhancing the team’s overall skill set and productivity.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture techniques in an academic or industry setting.
  • Experience with a variety of mammalian cell lines, including primary cells and established cell lines
  • Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Strong understanding of cell biology principles and cellular signaling pathways.
