Analysis of a STZ-HFD-induced NASH model. Neonatal male mice were injected with STZ on day 2 and fed a high fat diet from 4 weeks old. Body weight and blood glucose levels were altered after STZ-HFD induction.
Pathological features of STZ-HFD-induced NASH mice. (A) Representative H&E images after 6, 8 and 12 weeks STZ-HFD-induction. (B) Blood biochemistry results showed the characteristics of a STZ-HFD-induced model, such as increased serum ALT, AST, TG, and TC levels. (C) NAFLD activity score was increased in STZ-HFD mice. Values are expressed as mean ± SEM. *p<0.05, **p<0.01, ***p<0.001, ****p<0.0001.
Analysis of fibrosis and inflammation in a STZ-HFD-induced NASH mouse model. (A) Representative pictures of Sirius red and IHC staining after 9 weeks induction. (B) Quantitative data of Sirius red and IHC staining. STZ-HFD mice exhibited significantly increased fibrotic tissues. Values are expressed as mean ± SEM. *p<0.05.
